SHIMANO STEPS E-MOTOR
The drive unit provides assist up to 25 km/h as long as you are pedalling. It weighs a mere 3.2kg and contains sensors to give feedback on torque, cadence and breaking. With a battery that takes just two hours to charge to 80 percent, walk-assist mode, and three different drive modes in addition to manual, this e-motor does not miss a trick. A dedicated computer displays speed, distance to destination, what gear you are in, and elapsed time.
The Shimano Steps e-motor is an all-ability option available on many of the bikes we sell.
Whether to add an extra boost when tackling hills as you tour through the countryside, or keeping the sweat down on your commute, the Shimano Steps e-motor is a match for a wide range of cyclists. Featuring manual or automatic shifting, the Steps is an intelligent system that “learns” your cadence and power and will adjust itself to suit your riding style. On manual mode, it is as simple as pressing a button to change gears.

Robustly built, the Heinzmann Classic motor may be fitted on a Duet or Side by Side. The motor assists active pedalling up to a speed of 25km/h. Powerful torque and built-in gearing provide maximum assistance with load carrying and uphill climbs. With 250 watts of power, this motor weighs in at 3.5kg. A twist grip throttle and digital display work in tandem with pre-programmed sensors to provide assistance with all types of journeys.
